As part of its 40th anniversary programme, the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Civic Engineering in Subotica in Vojvodina invited Graham Bell to make a presentation about NECT's practical experiences in applying the principes of conservation to buildings and structures.
When the synagogue in Subotica was added to Europa Nostra's 7 Most Endangered list, Graham Bell joined the joint mission with the European Investment Bank Institute to assess the issues. He subsequently raised funding from the UK-based Headley Trust to develop the learning potential of the assessment and how this might influence future conservation repairs. This is a current project working with Europa Nostra Srbija, the Municipality, Culture Without Borders, the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Civic Engineering, and the Hungarian State which is largely funding the capital works.
