Based in the north of England, NECT is an NGO that works across the UK and has been active internationally in cultural heritage since the 1975 European Architectural Heritage Year; 2015 was its 50th anniversary. It is a longstanding member of European NGO networks of which Europa Nostra is its longest and most significant partner. It also works with specialist thematic organisations such as Future for Religious Heritage and the more global International National Trusts Organisation. Activities are generally project-based through a wide spectrum of working relationships. These include European programme partnerships, formal and non-formal professional cultural heritage managements, e-learning, education and skills training. The trust also has a successful track record as a recipient of European structural funds for its heritage site projects and social programmes. NECT welcomes collaboration from interested partners including state agencies, municipalities, not-for-profit NGOs or community groups. The working relationship could be a study, an event, a partnership programme, a joint application for project funding, project management, or training and mentoring for organisations new to European funding.
