The North East Heritage Skills Symposium

On 14 June 2007, the Heritage Skills Project held its first public event: The North East Heritage Skills Symposium.  The Symposium was held to gather all those in the region holding heritage skills projects and placements together to discuss the regional shortages, gaps and solutions whilst identifying potential areas for linking projects and future planning.

The event demonstrated projects from the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty, Bede's World, Northumberland National Park and also a full range of regional projects.  It provided the opportunity for networking and exploration of partnership working.

It is envisioned that the Symposium will become an annual event providing an opportunity for all to discuss and promote regional heritage skills partnerships and projects.
