Removal of Cementitious Pointing

Tynemouth Priory, Tyne and Wear This practical one day course, aimed at contractors and specifiers, is led by Ray Stockdale, Technical Manager for English Heritage (North East). During the day you will identify problems caused by cementitious pointing and look at ways of tackling on-going issues. This practical course will give you an opportunity to see problems such as accelerated stone decay through movement of soluble salts, wind erosion and freeze thaw action caused by inappropriate repairs, before examining solutions to tackle such problems whilst maintaining an historic building.
