Heritage Skills Days
Following on from the pilot programme of heritage skills days organised in 2007 with partners across the region, a more diverse programme is planned for 2008 (see Events Programme)
Introduction to Lime
The North East Heritage Skills Initiative is currently working together with the National Trust, English Heritage and regional contractor Historic Property Restoration Ltd to hold a series of trial ‘Introduction to Lime’ workshops.
Designed to educate people about the importance of traditional skills, lime days include lime slaking demonstration and a series of interactive sessions on building with hydraulic lime, pointing with both hydraulic and putty lime mixes, and using lime for plaster and lime washing.
