Introduction to Lime

The North East Heritage Skills Initiative is currently working together with the National Trust, English Heritage and regional contractor Historic Property Restoration Ltd to hold a series of trial ‘Introduction to Lime’ workshops.  

Designed to educate people about the importance of traditional skills, lime days include lime slaking demonstration and a series of interactive sessions on building with hydraulic lime, pointing with both hydraulic and putty lime mixes, and using lime for plaster and lime washing.

Introduction to Dry Stone Walling

The Introduction to Dry Stone Walling is being run by the Northumberland National Park Authority and the sessions introduce the participants to the basics of dry stone walling within the landscape of Northumberland with practical 'hands on' sessions included.
