HSI, now in its sixth year, runs a programme of over 100 heritage training courses and events across the North East and Cumbria. From April 2007 to December 2011 we provided over 67,000 hours of training and events, which range from taster days in blacksmithing to master classes in lime plastering to advice for home owners, contractors and professionals, as well as conferences for professionals.

The events programmes we run are mostly free and undertaken in partnership with English Heritage, the National Trust, Natural England and a team of dedicated professionals and craftspeople, without whom this would not be possible. See our current programmes below.
