Heritage Buildings: Funding and Training

Building skills in Cumbria and funding projects for the future
Friday 9th March 2012
9.30 – 15.30

Venue: Windermere United Reformed Church/Carver United Reformed Church
Lake Road, Windermere, Cumbria LA23 2BY.

This one day conference is aimed at all those who look after our heritage buildings or are involved in a heritage project: trustees, architects, conservation officers, caretakers, homeowners, building preservation trusts, contractors, trainees, church council members and stewards, to name a few. This compact programme brings together keynote speakers with experience of integrating heritage skills training and education into historic buildings projects and advice on funding buildings works. On the day there will be an opportunity to choose three out of twelve focused seminars.

The conference is organised jointly by North of England Civic Trust’s Heritage Skills Initiative and the Churches Trust for Cumbria. Conference costs have been kept to a minimum and there is a charge of £25 per person (£15 for trustees or representatives of church councils of all denominations). Delegates are welcome from the private, public and third sectors, and those applying from Cumbria will be given priority. If you would like to attend please complete the booking form below (one for each person wishing to attend) and return to kate.mcaleer@nect.org.uk by Monday 27th February, along with payment of £25.
